The Prints
The original acrylic paintings are reproduced as offset lithographs on 100 lb premium acid-free paper. The image size is 6 1/2” x 9”and sheet size is 12” x 14”.
The Ducks Unlimited sponsor prints image size is 10” x 13” and sheet size is 14” x 17”.
The Editions
Each print design is offered in three main additions. The Collectors Editon (signed & numbered),
The Executive Edition (signed & numbered with pencil remarque), and The Sportsman Edition
(signed & numbered with painted remarque). These editions are also available in artist proofs with exception to the Ducks Unlimited Sponsor Prints. The Ducks Unlimited sponsor prints editions are refered to as Artist Editions, not to be confussed with the Artist Proof. The Artist Editions are a determined number of prints out of the main print run, given to the Ducks Unlimited sponsor artist to sell.
Artist Proofs
Traditionally when artists make serigraphs and stone lithographs, they adjust aspects of the printing process until they achieve the desired effect. All prints made during this phase of printing the edition are set aside and called, appropriately, “artist proofs”. Usually the number of artist proofs does not exceed 10% of the edition size. Because of the adjustments, each artist proof is unique and differs from the prints of the main edition. The same phrase is applied to prints reserved from an offset lithographic reproduction. They can be unique from color adjusting on press otherwise they are similar to the prints in the main edition. Because of their subtle differences and restricted number, artist proofs are generally more valued by collectors and sold at a higher price.
Remarques
Artist remarques are original hand-drawn renderings done by the artist in either pencil or paint located in the margin of the lithograph. They increase the value and add one of a kind originality and character to each print.
